Day 303: Sly

She thought she was so sly, accidentally showing me pictures of it all. She had mentioned it before twice on the phone and was trying to gage my reaction. It had been years since we’d met up, long enough for me to forget her tricks. I’d thought she had grown too, that this was the start of an open and honest friendship. I believed that she had no agenda, but alas I was wrong again.

She thought she was playing and winning a game, one only she knew how to play. But I was unwillingly to dirty my hands in silly little games. I refused to entertain, let alone tolerate it. I swiftly changed the subject to a topic I knew she couldn’t resist talking about; herself.
