Day 281: Fitness update

So a few weeks ago, I wrote about my new found love of the gym, and as I am laying in bed with aches and pains all over my body, I thought it would be a good time to reflect on my gym journey so far.

For the last 2 and a half weeks I have been going to the gym 3 times a week. I’ve been to the gym for a total of 8 times so far.

I no longer have the drive and passion to go to the gym, however I do feel better after every workout. I feel energised and more confident and self aware. I feel reminded of who I am and what I’m capable of after every workout. But I also feel aches and pains after every workout.

Will I keep going to the gym? Well my goal is to complete a nine week programme going 3 times a week. I’m on week 3 and I only have to go one more time this week. I’m tired but I know it’s for a good reason, so yes I will continue on with the gym.

And also I like telling people that I go to the gym. I want to reach the moral superiority of a vegan who jogs every morning before work whilst drinking a smoothie. That is the dream. But for now I’ll have to settle for a woman who stuffs her face with a large bag of popcorn (with twice the amount of calories that she’s burnt off) whilst walking home from the gym.
