Day 192: Train Ride

For the whole of today I was mentally preparing my blog for tonight. I already knew what I was going to write about and I was just perfecting it in my head when I lifted my eyes on the train ride home. And there it was, written in black and white on a poster on the train. And it made me smile, it made me want to share it with everyone else.

So I’ve decided to save my original blog idea for another day and instead share the wonderful poem that caught my eye on the train. For my daily readers, you know by now that I love Emily Dickinson, so I am very excited to share a poem that I’d never heard of until today.

My life closed twice before its close—
It yet remains to see
If Immortality unveil
A third event to me

So huge, so hopeless to conceive
As these that twice befell.
Parting is all we know of heaven,
And all we need of hell.

Thank you for reading.
