Day 165: Unpacking

I stared at all the baggage

Laid out in front of me

Stopped and took a deep breath

As I began to unpack the memories

The dress I wore in the crowded room

When your gazed was glued to me

The shoes that brought my feet to life

And made the dance floor home

The lipstick I wore just to see you

But you missed it all together

The smell of sunshine on my skin

The sand that followed me home

The sun that darkened my complexion

Whilst leaving permanent marks

On my young and cautious heart.
