I looked out of the window and saw the rain pouring down. It must be a sign, I thought, a sign to stay home and not go. After praying for a reason not to go, i hoped the rain never stopped. I looked up as the sky darkened, excited to make the call to cancel. I looked down at my phone and it was already ringing.
“Don’t you dare cancel!” She said angrily on the other end of the call.
“What?” I asked, playing dumb.
“I know you, you’re looking for any excuse not to come. You live in England, you’ve seen more rain than sunshine” she exclaimed.
“I know, I’ll be there. No one said anything about cancelling” I answered disappointed at having my plot revealed.
“Okay great, I’ll see you soon”. She hung up the phone and I just stood by my window, silently praying for a storm.
