So today’s task is to find something old that I had previously written and to change it into something new.
The old piece of literature that I chose was a poem written in Jan 2017 titled I dream better with my eyes open. The original poem had a more specific subject whereas the recycled version doesn’t focus on anything in particular.
Enjoy.
I dream better with my eyes open
Closing them suppresses the vision
It blurs, no distinctness, no identity
I feel more with eyes open
Touch sending shivers all over
I taste better with my eyes open
Black pepper and garlic mingling in my mouth
I hear the conversation clearer with my eyes open
Laughs rippling through my whole being
Heads tilting backwards
All the things I miss when I refuse to see
I dream better with my eyes open
Thank you for reading.
