According to google there are 7 natural wonders of the world.
- Aurora Borealis.
- Harbor of Rio de Janeiro.
- Grand Canyon.
- Great Barrier Reef, Australia.
- Mount Everest.
- Victoria Falls.
Of the 7, only 4 vaguely interest me. The first is the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. As part of my year 9 geography project, we had to plan a 4 week holiday to Australia. One of the activities I wanted to do was snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef. However due to mass tourism and bleaching of the reef, it was classified as “in danger” by the UN. This means that I will not be snorkelling at the Great Barrier Reef anytime soon.
The second is the aurora borealis, this has been on my list for about 2 years and I’ve finally booked my tickets to Iceland to view this wonder. However, forgetting why I wanted to go to Iceland in the first place, I booked my tickets for the middle of summer where there will be no aurora to see. This is another item that will remain on my list for a while.
The third is the Grand Canyon. Although I dont think that planning a whole trip to see a bunch of rocks is cost effective, I would love to see it. Unlike Iceland where there are other things for me to see apart from the aurora, there isn’t much that I would like to do in Arizona apart from the Grand Canyon. If I were to ever go to Arizona, I will make sure to see it.
Last but not least Mount Everest, climbing a mountain has always been on my bucket list. Although my mountain of choice is mouth Kilimanjaro. This is because Kilimanjaro is less dangerous and I feel like I could survive with less skills and technique than with Everest. However, if I ever become a profession mountain climber, Everest would be my ultimate goal.
